CODATA VAMAS Questionnaire; IUCr input

CODATA (www.codata.org) and VAMAS (www.vamas.org) have formed an interdisciplinary Working Group on the Description of Nanomaterials, in order to standardise a description system for materials on the nanoscale. This forum will collect input to that process from IUCr Commissions.

CODATA VAMAS Questionnaire; IUCr input

Dear Colleagues,
The attachment is my completed questionnaire as IUCr Representative to CODATA VAMAS's Working Group on Nanomaterials. My questionnaire answers were approved in draft form by the IUCr's new, Ad interim, Commission on Materials.
My questionnaire answers were extended in May 2013 when Prof Dr Daniel Chateigner added further topics' answers; Daniel also took part in a Workshop in Paris held late May 2013 as my alternate as I was committed already to being in Japan at ISDSB 2013. He and I liaised very closely in preparation for the Workshop, and afterwards.
An earlier Workshop to launch the Working Group was run by CODATA in 2012. For IUCr this was attended by Prof Dr Reinhard Neder, again as my alternate as I was committed elsewhere. [Nb CODATA VAMAS need to add a doodle poll step to their Workshops' planning process to better ascertain attendance possibilities of official representatives like me for IUCr!]
